Steak and Egg Breakfast Sandwich

Ingredients

  • 8 oz thinly sliced ribeye
  • 4 slices muenster cheese
  • 4 slices American cheese
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 4 slices brioche bread

Special Sauce

  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1 tsp garlic minced or paste
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika

Caramelized Onions

  • 1 medium onion sliced
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Fluffy Eggs

  • 4 large eggs beaten
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 tsp olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

Special Sauce

  • In a bowl add all ingredients listed under “Special Sauce” and mix until thoroughly combined. Set aside until ready to use.

Caramelized Onions

  • In a pan over medium heat, add olive oil and butter. Once butter is melted add slice onions and brown sugar. Cook until the onions are brown and golden around the edges. Once cooked, set aside.

Fluffy Eggs

  • To a pan over medium low heat, add olive oil and butter. Once the butter is melted, pour in the beaten eggs and gentle move around the pan bringing the outside into the center until large curds start to form.
  • Season with salt and pepper and cook until the eggs are fluffy and set. Set aside.

Assemble

  • In a pan over medium heat, add olive oil and the thinly sliced ribeye. Season with salt and pepper and cook until browned and crispy around the edges.
  • Add slices of cheese and mix to combine. Once melted remove from heat and set aside.
  • Add some of the special sauce to one slice of toasted brioche bread. Follow that with the fluffy eggs, the cooked steak and cheese, caramelized onions and more of the special sauce. Top with another slice of toasted brioche.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy!
